CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “The Lowlife Chronicles 1984-1988” digipack CD/DVD and ATTOMICA “s/t” gatefold LP are out NOW!!

Posted in Attomica, Cryptic Slaughter, Releases on March 21st, 2017 by foadmaster

The moment has finally arrived! The two latest nuclear devices by F.O.A.D. Records are finally out and ready to drop on your stereo! “The lowlife chronicles 1984-1988” CD/DVD, also known as the definitive document about the life of Cryptic Slaughter, and the first legendary self titled album by Brazilian thrash legends Attomica are in the F.O.A.D. headquarters and almost all the preorders have been packed and shipped! You can also have a sneak peek at the contents of the amazing Cryptic Slaughter documentary in this trailer video, as an appetizer for the full feature!

More in detail about each release:

– CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “The Lowlife Chronicles 1984-1988” Digipack CD/DVD (F.O.A.D. 118)

The definitive Cryptic Slaughter release on FOAD Records! This project has been years in the making to reach the best possible result. A nearly 2 hours DVD tracing the band’s history from 1984 till the “Stream Of Consciousness” era in 1988. Includes tons of live footage and exclusive interviews with band members and other musicians (MUNICIPAL WASTE, REPULSION, HATEBREED, FEAR FACTORY, HIRAX etc..etc…). And there’s more… a CD full of rarities (rehearsals, outtakes etc) and soundboard live material selected from 9 different shows 1985-1988, ranging from the early “Life in grave” times to the “Convicted” and “Money Talks” sets.

31 SONGS of the fastest and most influential US Hardcore / Thrash ever conceived! Housed in a 8-panel digipack including 2 booklets packed with rare photos, flyers and original artworks. As we always say: if you’re into any kind of fast music be it Thrash, Hardcore, Grind or Power Violence, you are M.A.D. if you miss any Cryptic Slaughter release!

===================================

– ATTOMICA “s/t” Gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 119)

Another South American Thrash milestone on FOAD Records! 1987… among the hordes of death-thrashing maniacs raising from the blood soaked Brazilian underground, ATTOMICA from the São Paulo area sinks its teeth and claws in first with their “Children’s Assassin” Demo (1986) and then with the ultra-crude self titled debut that still now is considered by many their most classic release. This is some of rawest and most aggressive death tinged Thrash Metal you can think of. A solid collision of caustic neck-breaking riffs, fast ‘n’ tight drumming at occasion speeding up to blast beat levels and some merciless screaming vocals reminescent of early Kreator, giving to the whole thing an utter feeling of cruelty and malignancy.

Despite the many CD reissues, this classic full length hasn’t been reissued on vinyl since the original first press on Equinox (1988), so nearly 30 years! And most important, this new edition on special 160 grams vinyl is with no doubt the best sounding one you can find around, as it has been specially mastered from an uncompressed 1st generation source that unlike the ultra-“squashed” remastered CD versions gives a lot of range and dynamics to the warmness of the original production. Housed in a thick gatefold sleeve enriched with rare and unreleased photos from the band’s early times. If you’re like us an insane fanatic of Brazil’s Death/Thrash golden era (Mutilator, Holocausto, Chakal, Vulcano, Dorsal Atlantica, early Sepultura and tons more) this LP should be a mandatory addition to your collection!

CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “Stream of consciousness – Extended version” 2xLP and UPSET NOISE “Nothing more to be said / Growing pain + Live 1986” CD/DVD out NOW!!

Posted in Cryptic Slaughter, Releases, Upset Noise on February 25th, 2015 by foadmaster

Here we are! As previously announced we set February 25 for two new detonating FOAD thrashin’ attacks, and we kept the promise. The highly awaited CRYPTIC SLAUGHTERStream of consciousness – Extended version” 2xLP gatefold is out now in conjunction with UPSET NOISENothing more to be said / Growing pain + Live 1986” digipack CD/DVD!!  Most pre-orders have been shipped already. As expected, the CS die-hard edition on splatter vinyl has been completely sold out on preorder (this is getting a routine for all die-hard editions of our releases) , but of course you can still purchase the solid black vinyl version limited to 400.  A note: the previous images published of the “rainbow splatter effect” we had requested to the vinyl factory for the CS die-hard copies don’t match exactly to the final result that we received. We are posting a photo here so those who ordered it can see what they are getting. It’s not far from the starting idea but the pressing plant splattered it with colour drops instead of stripes, they always say that the final result is random, so we accept it because it looks killer and unique anyway. It’s more like a plumcake-with-candies than a rainbow!

Ok, more in detail about each release:

CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “Stream of consciousness – Extended version” 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 076)

Are you ready for a new chapter in the Cryptic Slaughter + FOAD legacy? After giving the right treatment to their legendary “Life in grave” demotape with a special vinyl version including tons of bonus material, it was about time to unite forces again and bring to light a new classic of our favourite California’s thrashing Speed-core pioneers. So we have decided to focus on their 3rd classic full length, their final release before splitting up and reforming again with new members, “Stream of consciousness” originally released in 1988 by Death Records / Metal Blade and never re-issued until then! We did everything possible to improve the sound with a special mastering for vinyl by our sound wizard H.o.D. at Toxic Basement Studio, adding a lot of aggression to the drums and guitar… One thing is sure: you have never heard “Stream..” sound so crisp as on this version! And to make the package even more outstanding we have added 1 full LP of extra tracks, featuring their complete pre-production session (that is even faster and rawer!) made few days before they entered the studio to record the album + 2 rare rehearsal songs 1987 one of which sees Rob and Bill trading off vocals!

25 songs in total, head-punching Crossover Thrash with a solid HC impact. “Stream of consciousness” displays a killer songwriting that is as great and powerful as most anthems on their previous two albums “Convincted” and “Money talks“, if the weak point on the first pressing was the messy production, try this FOAD version and you’ll be positively surprised!  Housed in a thick gatefold cover including lyrics, photos and a foldout insert/poster with tons of rare flyers and photos of that period. If you’re into any kind of fast music be it Thrash, Hardcore, Grind or Power Violence, you are MAD if you miss any Cryptic Slaughter release!!

Solid black vinyl ltd to 400 copies

CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “Life in grave + rarities” LP and BULLDOZER “The exorcism: Demo 1984” LP out now on FOAD Records!

Posted in Bulldozer, Cryptic Slaughter, Releases on June 26th, 2013 by foadmaster

Our hottest releases of the summer are finally available and ready to ship! Both of them have been displayed in first preview at FOAD‘s stall @ the Hellfest Open Air Festival in Clisson, France – so those who came to visit us there already got their limited die-hard copy. Now we are starting to ship all pre-orders, we will definitely catch all mailorder issues before leaving for the Obscene Extreme Festival next week, so no worries. NOTE: so far the previously announced summer schedule of our releases has been perfectly respected, anyway the last few things planned will be subjected to some changes: RUPTURE “Corrupture” gatefold LP + flexi disc will hopefully see its release party at OEF 2013, but it’s still very uncertain. TUMOR 4CD boxset and YACOPSAE “Discoregraphy” 2CD will come out later due to factory delays. Good news is that we’re doing our best to release NECRODEATH / SCHIZO “Mondocane” digipack CD in time for the Armageddon In The Park Festival in Campobasso, Italy on Sat. 3rd August 2013.  Ok, so back to our brand new CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER and BULLDOZER gems, here’s a detailed description on each of them:

CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER “Life in grave + rarities 1985/1988″ gatefold LP with 36 page zine/booklet

California’s thrashing Speed-core pioneers CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER team up with FOAD Records for an incredible vinyl treasure finally giving the right treatment to their legendary “Life in grave” Demotape 1985 and to an accurate selection of ultra-rare/unreleased recordings ranging from their 3 piece line-up era (1985) to the “Convicted”/”Money talks” days. This release has been in the works for months until we found the top sounding masters in existence and restored them for the best possible audiophile result when pressed on vinyl. Side A includes the band’s Demotape “Life in grave” adding 2 rehearsal tracks from the same period, one is a speeded up HELLHAMMER cover and one is a super-raw version of VENOM‘s “Welcome to hell”. Side B is all focused on the “Convicted”/”Money talks” 4 piece line-up and includes various live recordings and a good sounding rehearsal 1986. All songs here are performed even faster than how they were played on their classic albums. This is how Goodbadmusic.com introduced “Life in grave”: “1985 was a good year for music – bands like SLAUGHTER, NYC MAYHEM, VOOR, WEHRMACHT, HIRAX, DEATH, REPULSION and CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER amazed me and they still blow me away today! Especially this one here with its youthful urgency, its unpolished power and enthusiasm. And stilistically, this was very refreshing. Could you say whether this is more metal or more HC? Does it matter to you?” Being this one of the most important FOAD releases to date, we also dedicated the right passion to the packaging: a stunning reverse board gatefold sleeve and most of all a 36 PAGE zine/booklet stuffed with rare photos, interviews, zine excerpts and gig flyers. If you’re into any kind of fast music be it Thrash, Hardcore, Grind or PowerViolence, you are MAD if you miss this!!

Die-hard edition in “half n half” coloured vinyl (half black with yellow splattering / half red striped with black)

Regular black vinyl

BULLDOZER “The exorcism Demo 1984 + Fallen angel” gatefold LP

The ultra-fucking-rare BULLDOZER Demotape 1984 with kult “Fallen angel” 7″ added as bonus. One of the most incredible findings in FOAD‘s hunting career: only 3 copies of this demo exist, one was sent to Roadrunner, one to King Diamond and one was recently exhumed in AC Wild’s basement and delivered to us for a top quality treatment. This is the recording that got Bulldozer signed to Roadrunner in 1984 and it sounds killer.. different and rawer versions of classics ended on their debut slasher “The day of wrath”. Dark, demonical Black/Speed Metal from the most savage guts of Italy’s early 80s Metal inferno, for anyone that worships the early releases from Venom, Bathory and Possessed, plus the “Fallen angel” session adds that Motörhead touch making this an instant masterpiece of rawness and sheer power. Check out how AC Wild introduced the unreleased Demo recordings: “This tape was sent to Roadrunner and Roadrunner signed us in 1984. It was also submitted to King Diamond to ask if he was interested in being the producer of our album but he refused saying that this stuff sounded “too Punk”!! Comes in a stunning gatefold cover filled with rare/unreleased photos, alternate artworks and liner-notes.

Die-hard edition limited to 100 copies on splatter vinyl (iridescent blood-red mixed with gold + dark speckles) including an embroidered patch with the band’s logo

Regular black vinyl
